Longtime New Canaan artist Angela Loeffel Burns' "Mostly Flowers" will be on exhibit through the end of April at Bankwell, 208 Elm St.

Burns, who teaches acrylic painting at the Lapham Center in New Canaan, studied at the Chicago Art Institute, received a bachelor's degree in fine arts from the University of New Mexico and did graduate studies at the Ecole du Louvre in Paris. She has studied under Randall Davey, Georgia O'Keefe, Jimmy Ernst and Charles Reid, among others.

She has exhibited in France and the U.S., including the New Canaan Society for the Arts, Palace of the Governors in Santa Fe, the Loft Artists Association in Stamford, "Art of the Avenue" in Greenwich and the Summer Animal Arts Exhibit in Old Lyme.

She has painted on commission, designed and painted sets for regional theater, and taught courses in drawing, painting and theater arts. She is a retired member of the Loft Artists Association and an active member of the New Canaan Society for the Arts, Connecticut Sculptors and the New Canaan Sculpture Group.
