The ticket machines at all of the Metro-North Railroad stations, which malfunctioned twice over the New Year's holiday weekend, are working again for the Monday morning commute, railroad officials say.

The machines rejected credit- and debit-card purchases of tickets Friday and early Saturday, as well as most of Sunday. Passengers were forced to use cash to buy tickets at the stations or onboard the trains.

Metro-North, in a Sunday statement, blamed the problems on its communications provider.
