A man attempted to use a fraudulent prescription to buy oxycodone at Walgreens, 36 Pine St., New Canaan police said.

A pharmacist called police at about 2 p.m. July 16 that the suspect had just attempted to buy Roxicodone, a brand of oxycodone, according to the report. When the individual's name was entered in the computer a note popped up stating that the man had attempted to pass a fraudulent prescription at a CVS Pharmacy in Westport the day before, police said.

As the pharmacist picked up the phone to call the doctor and verify the information, the suspect walked out, according to the report.

Police said they're looking into surveillance footage to identify the man, who had a New Haven address on the prescription. No other details about his identity were released as police are not sure he used his real name.
