Nicholas Chocas, 32, of Midwood Road, Norwalk, was arrested Dec. 9 on a charge of disorderly conduct after yelling obscenities outside the New Canaan YMCA, police said.
A YMCA employee who was helping children cross the street called the police at 5:30 p.m. to report the disturbance, police said. The employee said the man was being "quite loud" and was yelling obscenities in the parking lot, according to police.
Police went to the scene and spoke to Chocas for a while, but he didn't make sense, according to police.
He was issued a summons and taken to Norwalk Hospital for evaluation, police said, and is scheduled to appear in court Dec. 11.
