Man arrested after scuffle at Silver Hill Hospital

An 18-year-old Long Island, N.Y. man who allegedly punched a Silver Hill Hospital employee in the face and brandished a water bottle in a sock was charged with assault on a health care worker on June 25, according to New Canaan Police Sgt. Carol Ogrinc.
The altercation occurred at 12:28 p.m. when Daniel Azatyan, of 19 South Summerset Drive., Great Neck, N.Y. approached a 28-year-old male employee at the hospital at 208 Valley Road wearing multiple layers of clothing and holding the water bottle in a sock, Ogrinc said. Azatyan allegedly began swinging the bottle like a mace at a 28-year-old male employee of rehabilitation facility, Ogrinc said.
Another employee attempted to restrain Azatyan, who allegedly threw the water bottle and punched the 28-year-old male employee in the nose, Ogrinc said.
Azatyan was also charged with disorderly conduct, Ogrinc said.
He was released on $5,000 bond, and is to appear in state Superior Court in Stamford on Thursday, July 9, according to Ogrinc.
