A strong advocate of best practices in fiscal responsibility and governance, Kathleen Corbet is a familiar name here in New Canaan.
When Gary Conrad resigned, Kathleen was asked by First Selectman Rob Mallozzi to serve as New Canaan's interim chief financial officer. She was unanimously approved by the Board of Selectmen, the Board of Finance and the Town Council.
In this role, she utilized her expertise and knowledge to identify cost savings, improve financial controls and effectively communicate complex problems and solutions to town management and governing bodies.
In summary, Kathleen exemplifies what I envision to be the ideal Town Councilman -- a person with excellent communication skills, demonstrated ability in municipal finance, a strong sense of community involvement and, in the words of First Selectman Rob Mallozzi, her "New Canaan-centric knowledge."
On Tuesday, Nov. 5, please cast your vote for Kathleen Corbet.
