We are fortunate to have former Town Councilman Paul Foley running for a seat on the Town Council. Having served for eight years, chairman of both the Public Works and Health and Safety committees, two years on the Fire Commission, and former chairman of the Republican Town Committee, he brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the office.

During my tenure as first selectman, I asked Paul to chair the Asbestos Abatement Review Committee, a thankless job, rife with conflict. Paul and his committee reviewed the audit report, listened to legal counsel, considered all points of view and recommended a course of action favorable to the town. He understands that vigorous debate on issues where there are differing opinions is a healthy form of democracy. He rises above the small-town pettiness and is an independent thinker. Paul also has a sound understanding of the town's complex financial affairs.

Please join me in supporting Paul at the caucus on July 16.
