Letter / Doors should be closed when air conditioning on

During the recent power outage in New Canaan yesterday I noticed some retailers pointing out the fact that the outage had caused them to close their stores. Some of these retailers are, I believe, the cause of this kind of outage. It's crazy to walk around town and see the doors wide open and the AC blasting. Hard to believe it's still allowed.

I run a design firm in town and had to close around 1 p.m. My note to the town would be to enforce its environmental commitment and not allow retailers to have their doors open and the AC on.
