"A spell on me. Oh, drat! Oh blast! In Nursery Land a wolf in verse is clearly bad, or even worse. But for the moment I must hide the evil schemes I have inside." So spouts the Big Bad Wolf in the Town Players of New Canaan's Family Holiday Show, Tina and Robert Burbidge's "Little Red Riding Hood, A Panto" -- a light hearted, fun-filled spoof with a happy ending, music, dancing, and colorful costumes.
The two act play lasts an hour-and-a-half including intermission and is recommended for all ages, starting at 5 years old. At the helm are Patrick Kiley of Fairfield and Ken Knox of Wilton, who, in their sixth collaboration as director and musical director, said they are having a ball.
"Little Red Riding Hood, A Panto is a happy show with so much good hearted fun," producer Sheri Dean of New Canaan said.
Performances will take place Friday, Dec. 16 at 8 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 17 and 18 at 2:30 p.m. at the Powerhouse Theatre, Waveny Park, 677 South Ave., New Canaan.
Tickets are $10 for adults, seniors and children for all performances. To reserve seats, call 203-966-7371 or visit firstname.lastname@example.org.
