"Kicks for the Outback," a fundraiser for the Outback Teen Center, takes place at New Canaan High School's Dunning Stadium from 6:15 to 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27.

An exhibition match between the coaches of the New Canaan Soccer Association and the Darien Soccer Association will be played. In addition, Jhonny Arteaga, who plays for the New York Red Bulls and Pittsburgh Riverhounds, will be making an appearance to sign autographs and participate in the kids' skills competitions.

All proceeds support the Outback's programs.

Following the match, children ages 6 to 14 can participate in the skills competitions including powers shoots, juggling and penalty shoot-outs. New Canaan NOGA coaches in partnership with Darien Soccer Association coaches will supervise the competitions. New Canaan High School and Darien High School varsity players will be assisting as well. Prizes will be awarded to the winners.

All skills competitions participants must have a game ticket, register in advance and have parental permission via a signed release and indemnification form. Limited registration for skills competitions is filling fast.
