Joan Brewster Hatfield of Sarasota, Fla., formerly of New Canaan, died Feb. 13. She was 72.
Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Milton; two daughters, Maureen (Eduardo) Lopez of Monroe, and Michelle (Mike) Symons of Grand Blanc, Mich.; son Milton II. (Krissa) of Carmel, Ind.; a sister, Patience Johnson of Lewiston, Maine, and Nokomis, Fla.; and five granddaughters, Amanda, Ashley, Madeline, Nicole and Caroline.
Services were held Thursday, Feb. 17, at Toale Brothers Funeral Home, Gulf Gate Chapel in Sarasota.

Mitchell Stasiukiewicz of Riverhead, N.Y., died Feb. 5 at the Riverhead Care Center. He was 82.
Mr. Stasiukiewicz was born March 10, 1928, to Joseph and Genevieve (Szumczyk) Stasiukiewicz in Poland.
He married Jean Szot in May 1954 in Riverhead, N.Y.
He was a custodian employed for many years by Suffolk County and enjoyed elephant collectibles, dancing, taking care of his lawn and property and spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Jean Stasiukiewicz; his son, Mark Stasiukiewicz, of Riverhead, N.Y.; his daughter-in-law, Georgia Boenig-Stasiukiewicz, of Wading River, N.Y.; his siblings, Lynn Markowski of Riverhead, N.Y., Anthony Stasiukiewicz, of Aquebogue N.Y., and Henry Stasiukiewicz, of Florida; and three grandchildren, Belinda Stasiukiewicz of Connecticut, Brendan and Cole Stasiukiewicz of Wading River, N.Y. His son Frank predeceased him in 1973.
Visiting hours were held at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead Feb 7 and 8. Funeral services were held Feb. 9 at St. Isidore R.C. Church in Riverhead, followed by interment at the church cemetery.
