Numerous jewelry items were reported stolen from a Whiffle Tree Lane home July 5, New Canaan police said.

A 20-year-old resident called police at about 12:30 p.m. after he saw that several drawers in his parents' bedroom were left open and rummaged through, according to the report. After contacting his parents, the family learned they were missing "quite a lot of jewelry," police said, though a list of items has not been made yet.

The residence's alarm system was not on, according to the report.

Police are investigating.
