'Interim' removed from Correnty's title

Jill Correnty has been promoted to assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction, according to Mary Kolek, superintendent of the New Canaan Public Schools.

Correnty had been the interim assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction. She had served as principal of West Elementary School since 2005, and then in October 2013 was appointed interim assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction for the duration of the 2013-14 school year.

Kolek said, "Jill has not only demonstrated highly effective instructional leadership but has also made significant contributions to the overall district program. She has a background in literacy and is certified in special education. Jill has been a key contributor to the development of professional learning community practices, serving such initiatives as Response to Intervention and Teacher Evaluation and Professional Growth."
