NEW CANAAN — The joyous sounds and spirited songs of some local young performers were heard Friday night when St. Aloysius Parish hosted its first-ever “Holy Grounds” coffee house.

“Our kids absolutely love praise and worship music,” said organizer Chris Otis, director of youth & family ministries.

Stapleton Hall was filled with more than 50 listeners, who heard combos of guitar, piano and voice from close to a dozen teens, while enjoying a wide array of desserts and drinks.

“We’ve really got a lot of talented kid,” Otis said. “And this just gives them another opportunity to share that God-given talent.”

Money raised at the event was donated to the local charity Feed My Starving Children.
