NEW CANAAN — Giving new meaning to the term “hands-on learning,” the New Canaan Library held a “Squishy Circuits” class for kids the afternoon of Aug. 4.

Working with a colorful and sometimes messy concoction of homemade clay, kids learned how materials conduct electricity, as well as about circuitry.

A dozen elementary-age participants put serious focus into building their circuits, then lit up as brightly as their bulbs when they were able to make them light.
