NEW CANAAN — The sun set on the last of this season’s Waveny Summer Concerts Wednesday evening, with The Fairfield Counts ensemble playing some big band music for a lawn-full of listeners.

The concert series, which is run by the New Canaan Recreation Department and co-sponsored by several local businesses, included a dozen different groups—everything from folk rock and doo wop, to funk and contemporary jazz—and took place on the lawn behind the mansion.

Admission was free and attendees arrived with chairs, blankets, food and drink.
