How to raise a backyard chicken

Audience members will learn how to incubate, brood, and gather eggs; caring for chicks and growing them to maturity; and receive a resource book and handout.
Farrell has farmed for decades. She was a New York City kid who wanted to be a farmer and spent 20 years farming in Bovina, N.Y. She started a business names “Annie’s” and has helped build several farms for others. She lives and works at Millstone Farm in Wilton.
Jaci Slattery works at Millstone, and handles livestock and gardens, along with Millstone’s markets and chefs. She worked at The Farm Institute on Martha’s Vineyard, before coming to Millstone. She studied Sustainable Agriculture and Education at Sterling College in Vermont, and lives nearby with her family and three dogs.
