Home buyer seminar to take place

Prospective home buyers are invited to attend a free seminar on the afternoon of Saturday, April 28 from 1 to 3 p.m.

This informative seminar is sponsored by People's United Bank and RealtyQuest. "Home Buying 101" A Step by Step Guide to Home Ownership" will take place at People's United Bank's 11 Belden Hill Avenue branch in Norwalk. All attendees will be entered in a drawing to win a $100 gift card provided by Ring's End Lumber.

Attendees will learn how to navigate the home buying process from dreaming of a home to negotiating and closing on the right property. Topics covered by the seminar will include qualifying for a mortgage, determining how much home you can afford, special home buyer programs and incentives, selecting a real estate agent, tips on finding the right home and avoiding common buyer mistakes. A formal presentation will be followed by refreshments and an opportunity to ask your questions of qualified mortgage and real estate professionals one on one. Prospective buyers will have the opportunity, if they choose, to begin the mortgage qualification process on site.
