"It's even more important that people get out and do something positive for the community and themselves given the challenges of the last week," event co-chairman Nicole Steel said. "With all the cancellations and scheduling complications, we wanted to be clear that we are moving forward as scheduled and hope to have a very successful event."
The shopping event is the largest fundraiser of the year for the YWL of New Canaan charitable grant program and attracts hundreds of shoppers and 40 vendors from the tri-state area and surrounding towns.

"The Holiday Market has been a favorite fundraiser for the YWL's membership and consistently has raised half the annual grant amount needed to support our chosen charities over the past 15 years," said Amy Burger, YWL president. "We aim to be a destination for holiday shoppers and are grateful for the support from our participating sponsors, vendors, attendees and the town. It's a great opportunity to shop for a good cause."
This year, many of New Canaan's local retailers and shops will participate in shopping perks for attendees for two weeks following the Holiday Market.
