The New Canaan Historical Society will host a preview screening of the new PBS documentary, “Pedro E. Guerrero: “A Photographer’s Journey, at 3 p.m. Aug. 30 in the Town House.

Guerrero (1917-2012) lived in New Canaan for almost 50 years, during the heyday of his photography career. Born into a pioneer Arizona family of Mexican descent, and raised in a small and segregated town, he became one of the most sought-after photographers of the “Mad Men” era, producing studies of modernist architecture, including many of the modernist houses in New Canaan.

Well-known for his photos of architect Frank Lloyd Wright and his buildings, Guerrero also documented the life and works of the sculptors Alexander Calder and Louise Nevelson.
