New Covenant House of Hospitality will host its second annual food-related fundraiser, Harvest Table, on Sunday, Nov. 11, from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Italian Center, 1620 Newfield Ave., Stamford.
The event will feature cooking demonstrations by local chefs and restaurateurs, a silent auction and a luncheon. The keynote speaker is chef Debra Ponzek, the owner of Greenwich-based Aux Delices and a cookbook author.
Proceeds benefit the New Covenant House of Hospitality, Stamford's only soup kitchen. New Covenant House provides three meals per day, year round, through its soup kitchen, food pantry and breakfast-to-go programs.
"The Harvest Table Luncheon is a great way for the community to celebrate the holiday season and share their abundance with those in need," said New Covenant House Director Brian Jenkins. "Proceeds from the luncheon will directly help to bring nutritious meals to all in lower Fairfield County who are hungry." In the last year, NCH provided more than 600,000 meals.
