Harry Connick Jr.’s daughter was arrested last weekend for hosting an underage drinking party while her parents were not home, New Canaan police said.

Georgia Connick, 19, was charged with permitting minors to possess alcohol and procuring alcohol for minors, an infraction, New Canaan Police Lt. Jason Ferraro said.

Police received a call just after 1 a.m. Saturday about an underage drinking party at the West Road home. Police found a large group of youths attempting to flee the party unsuccessfully through a heavily wooded area next to the house, Ferraro said.

The musician’s daughter told police she planned to host a small gathering, but several groups of youths showed up at the party, Ferraro said. Police found numerous empty and half-empty beer cans on the property, Ferraro said.

Police called the parents of 15 people between the ages of 18 and 20 who remained at the scene, Ferraro said.

Connick was released on a promise to appear in state Superior Court in Stamford on Wednesday, Sept. 2.
