Summer Theatre of New Canaan's Junior Company will perform "Hairspray Jr." at 4 p.m. Friday, July 25, in the open-air tent theater at Waveny Park.

Middle school students from across lower Fairfield County make up the company. Following a three weeks of rehearsal, the company will present one performance of "Hairspray Jr."

The company worked with the professional actors, creative and technical staff of the main stage production of "Hairspray," which continued through Aug. 3.

"This is a very diverse and talented group of young actors," Melody Libonati, STONC's artistic director, "and we expect this to be a great learning and performance experience for our Junior Company members and for families with young children who can attend this fun show for free."

The New Canaan cast members are Cate Brown, Claire Brunner, William Dantini, Lindsey Kanter, Vanessa Kanter, Joseph Nardi, Niki Orndahl, Kaitlin Piotroski, Ava Rucci, Isabella Salant, Lexy Sullivan, Skyler Timberlake and Christa Wennerstrom. The others are Charlotte Barnard, Ellie Collier, Emelyn Ehrlich, Sydney Fagerstrom, Jenna Funkey, Emily Grandon, Diana MacIntyre; Caitlin Golynker, Sydney Coffield, Dillon Mims, Savanna Shettler, Rachel Wilson and Meridith Taggart.

The creative team includes Libonati, director/choreographer Corrine Broadbent, stage manager Kristina Lew, costume designer Becky Thorogood and sound designer Daniel Bria.

Admission is free.
