A black Ford F-350 dump truck stolen on Brookside Road in Darien was recovered on Weed Street and Wahackme Road in New Canaan the following day, Sept. 9, according to Darien police.

Missing from the recovered truck were two guns, a loaded Beretta 9mm and a Ruger brand pellet rifle, according to Darien Police Sgt. Jeremiah Marron.

Generator reported stolen

A homeowner returned to her Nursery Road home Saturday to find their $1,300 generator had been stolen from their garage, according to New Canaan Police Lt. Jason Ferraro.

A resident of the home told police she saw two people next to an unfamiliar dark truck in a neighbor’s driveway earlier in the afternoon, Ferraro said.

Returning later she noticed the generator gone, and drag marks where it appeared the generator had been pushed off the property toward where the truck had been, Ferraro said.

Arrest for stolen checks

A Hill Street woman was arrested Sunday by warrant in connection with stealing and cashing five checks belong to two other men in town in April, according to police.

Kristina Green, 23, was charged on two warrants with sixth-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny, and third-degree forgery, according to New Canaan Police Lt. Jason Ferraro.

Police took custody of Green at Bridgeport Hospital, Ferraro said.

The roommates who were the victims reported the checks were allegedly stolen April 13, according to police reports.

The men said they allowed Green to stay in their house when she needed a home during the spring, according to police reports, and an investigation of the missing checks found some were made out to Green or signed by her.

The men reported the alleged crime to police when one of them noticed a check he didn’t write for $100 written in his name, according to police.

Last month, town resident Justin Formentin was arrested on similar charges in connection with the incident.

Green was released on $1,000 bond, and was to appear in state Superior Court in Norwalk, according to Ferraro.
