New Canaan High School's recent prom fashion show, "Fashion's Night Out," was a fun-filled success. The event featured colorful and trendy prom fashions, as well as surprise visits from some superstar "celebrities" (students who posed as celebs). Among them were Brangelina (Carly Dumbauld and Bobby Distler), Heidi Klum (Kerry Hoffman), Seal (Stephan Walker), Tim Tebow (Patrick Newton) and Leighton Meister (Alyssa Domino)
Among those providing the latest prom fashions were several local vendors, including A Step Ahead, Camillo's, Rugby, Skirtin' Around, Suburban Couture, True Blue, Togs, Darien Sport Shop, Athletic Shoe Factory, Caren Forbes, Potpurri and Jos. A. Banks. Make-up and hair were provided by Cherry Street Salon, Space NK and Benefit.
The first half of the show was emceed by Chris Green, Kate Gilhoo and Doug Reilly. During intermission, the crowd was treated to a performance by Nick DePuy. The second half was emceed by Gogo Jones, Gwen Van de Graaf and Thomas Rochlin. Anna Holbrook and Janine Pickhardt directed the show.
The special evening was full of many surprises, including an appearance on the runway by Principal Bryan Luizzi, along with Peter Barella and Linda Pescatello, both of whom work at the high school. More than 90 students participated.
All of the proceeds will go toward the post-prom party, which will take place at Waveny House on May 18.
