The 33rd annual New Canaan Family Fourth fireworks celebration takes place on Thursday, July 4, at Waveny Park.

The eagerly anticipated family event will feature the New Canaan Town Band, The Great Sirico Magician, food and beverages and inflatable bouncers for children.

The rain date is Friday, July 5.

Waveny Park will open at 5 p.m. All cars must enter through the main gate on South Avenue. Lapham Road will be closed to all traffic. Entry passes must be displayed on windshields. Pedestrians should enter the park from the New Canaan High School area. Parking is not permitted on the roads adjacent to the park.

Passes for residents are $30 and are available at www.newcanaan.info or at the Recreation Department office in Waveny House, on the second floor, through July 3. Cash or check only and proof of residency is required.

A limited number of non-resident passes are available for $60 at the Recreation Department.

In the event of inclement weather, call 203-594-3610 or visit the town's website. Residents are asked not to call the Police or Fire departments.
