East School community service leaders worked hard to make this fundraiser a success, and more than $9,000 has been raised to date, according to a release. The foundation's mission is to provide college scholarships and educational counseling to military children who have lost a parent in the line of duty. In keeping with the military spirit, the community service leadership group, composed of 16 fourth- grade students, organized an obstacle course similar to one that a soldier may experience in basic training. Every student at East School had the opportunity to complete the obstacle course during their physical education class the week of March 30.
