The art of the American Depression is the subject of an upcoming exhibition of prints and paintings at New Canaan Library.

"Art of the American Depression 1935-1942," from a selection of items from a local collection, will be on display in the H. Pelham Curtis Gallery from Jan. 19 to Feb. 23 with an opening reception on Sunday, Jan. 19, at 3 p.m.

The exhibit is sponsored by the Art Committee, Friends of New Canaan Library. The curators for this show are Susie Salomon and Ann Barua.
