A New Canaan man suffered a serious head injury after jumping from a moving vehicle.

Police responded to the area of Hoyt Street and Heather Lane Friday at 3:47 p.m. after receiving a report that a man had jumped from a vehicle while it was traveling south on Hoyt Street, police said. The 23-year-old New Canaan man jumped from the 2008 Mazda which was being driven by family member, police said.

He was transported to Stamford Hospital by Darien EMS to be treated for a serious head injury. The incident is still under investigation but police have not yet been able to interview the due to his injuries, police said.
