The New Canaan Democratic Town Committee will host its ninth annual fall barbecue at Kiwanis Park on Sunday, Sept. 9, from 4 to 7 p.m.

U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal, state Comptroller Kevin Lembo, state Attorney General George Jepsen and Secretary of the State Denise Merrill and other elected officials have been invited to attend.

Candidates for the state Legislature -- Mark Robbins, Kate Tepper, Carolanne Curry and Dan Dauplaise -- will be available to meet voters and discuss issues.

"This is an excellent opportunity for voters -- Democrats, unaffiliated and Republicans alike -- to hear directly from our candidates while supporting our outreach and voter education work," said Ginny Apy, DTC chairwoman. "The annual barbecue really is the best way for people to help us help Democrats win."

Tickets are $30 in advance and are available from any DTC member. Advance tickets are also available online at www.newcanaandems.info/bbq. At the door, tickets will be $40.
