Country School students in grades four through eight celebrated the school's Sustainability Day Wednesday afternoon with larger-than-life puppets crafted with recycled materials.

Using discarded cardboard, old olive cans and other recycled items, students built vibrant and elaborate puppets like a green-skinned witch, sharp-toothed fish and long-tongued dragon. On Wednesday, they showed off their artistic creations to family, faculty and staff.

The parade was the culmination of a larger sustainable living education program that also included planting native greens and picking up trash on campus, according to science teacher Scott Lilley.
