The New Canaan Police Department is participating in the "Click It or Ticket" nationwide campaign, which runs through June 1.

Children are 29 percent safer in the backseat and are required to be in a child restraint system until the age of 7 and less than 60 pounds. Children 60 pounds and over between ages 7 and 15 are required to use a safety belt, regardless of their location in the vehicle.
