"Coping with Depression" is the next topic in the community health series hosted by The Greens at Cannondale on Wednesday, April 18, at 6 p.m.

Lateef Habib, of Norwalk, clinical coordinator for outpatient services in the Department of Psychiatry at Norwalk Hospital, will be the speaker.

Habib will offer an interesting case study approach to depression. He will elaborate on symptoms of depression and explain different types of depression, such as manic depressive illness and bipolar depression. He also will discuss treatments such as various types of evidenced-based psychotherapies and medications. Following his presentation, there will be an opportunity for questions from the audience.

Habib joined the department of psychiatry at Norwalk Hospital in 2001. A graduate of Siena College with a bachelor's degree in psychology, Habib obtained a master's degree in social work from Columbia University. He appears frequently on television programs and makes presentations to the public on mental health topics.
