The renovations and additions to a 1904 Colonial Revival house and property in New Canaan won Austin Patterson Disston Architects, of Fairfield, a New Canaan Preservation Alliance 2014 Historic Preservation Award.

Under the design guidance of partner McKee Patterson, the house at 621 Canoe Hill Road was extensively renovated and added to with a "conscious preservation ethic," according to the alliance.

The citation also reads that the project "retains most of the building's historic fabric and character. The minor additions were complementary to the original symmetry of the house ... following the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for Rehabilitation."
