On May 3, 2010 the South Western Region Metropolitan Planning Organization and the neighboring Metropolitan Planning Organizations -- New York Metropolitan Transportation Council, North Jersey Transportation Planning Authority, Housatonic Valley Council of Elected Officials and Greater Bridgeport/Valley Metropolitan Planning Organization -- will hold a public meeting to advance the efforts of regional transportation planning.

The discussion will include an overview of efforts in the three Connecticut MPOs, and a keynote address by Jim Redeker, director of transportation for Connecticut Department of Transportation.

In addition, the MPOs will scan case studies on Multi-Jurisdictional Transportation Planning Framework.

Case studies being presented will include the Amtrak 2030 Master Plan and the I-95 Corridor Coalition.

This meeting and planning forum is the next in a continuing series of public meetings of the MPOs, in accordance with the provisions of the Planning Coordination MOU adopted in 2008.

The meeting will be held from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Perdue Pharma, 102 Tresser Blvd., Stamford.

For security purposes pre-registration is required for this event. To register, contact Lisa Pelazza at Pelazza@swrpa.org or 203-316-5190.
