Roach, a New Canaan resident, will discuss his book, "Unbalanced: The Co-Dependency of America and China."
In "Unbalanced," Roach, senior fellow at Yale University and former chairman of Morgan Stanley Asia, lays out and explains the problems of the current China-U.S. economic relationship. He highlights the conflicts that create tensions, including disputes over trade policies, sharp contrasts in leadership styles and disputes over cyberhacking. Roach also examines the contrast between the nations' economic styles.
For the bulk of his career on Wall Street, Roach was chief economist of Morgan Stanley. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley in 1982, he served on the research staff of the Federal Reserve Board and was a research fellow at the Brookings Institution. He holds a doctorate in economics from New York University.
