Children's programs available at New Canaan Library

The Children's Room at New Canaan Library is ready to kick off another summer reading program, along with a host of fun and educational activities to enhance the experience.
This summer's program theme is "DIG into Reading" and will open with a presentation by Susan Kirby & Joe Murray of Airborne Jugglers at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 26, in the Adrian Lamb Room.
The event, "Juggling with a Comedy Twist," will be followed by a juggling workshop. The program is designed for children ages 4 to 12 and their parents.
In addition to reading clubs and programs that require advance registration, the Children's Room offers a wide variety of drop-in events for some spur-of-the-moment fun.

Drop-In Storytimes begin June 24 and run throughout July 25 for babies ages 1 month to 23 months, children aged 2 to 8. Storytimes take place in the children's program room.
PJ Storytimes will be on Tuesday evenings beginning June 25 and running through July 25. Children ages 3 to 8 and parents can enjoy stories, songs, a film and refreshments from 6:30 to 7:15 p.m.
The Summer Theatre of New Canaan will treat young library patrons to two special preview performances of the "The Little Mermaid Jr.," recommended for children ages 4 to 11 and their parents, on Tuesday, June 25, and "The Cat in the Hat" on Tuesday, July 9. Both performances take place in the Adrian Lamb Room from 3:30 to 4:15 p.m.
A Preschool Dance Party is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 6, from, 6:30 to 7:15 p.m. in the gallery.
Game Week @ the Library will take place Aug. 19 to 23 from 1 to 4 p.m. in the children's program room. Enjoy Mad Libs, board games and puzzles of varying difficulties.
