Children's Musical Theatre to present 'Rescue in the Night'

The Presbyterian Choir School of New Canaan's Children's Musical Theatre will present "Rescue in the Night," the story of Daniel in the Lion's Den, on Sunday, June 1.

The performance takes place during the 10 a.m. worship service at the church, 178 Oenoke Ridge.

The humorous and dramatic retelling of the Old Testament story features music by Allen Pote and book by Tom Long. The cast includes members of the Presbyterian Choir School's Cherub, Carol and Chrysalis Youth choirs.

The production is under the leadership of director/choreographer Allison Gray, music director Sean McCarthy, set designer Rose Rothbart and producer Cathy Newman.

The cast includes Nicolas Woods as Daniel, Ellie Parkhill as King Darius I and Kate Reeves, Julia Sulkowski and Tyson Hammer as the king's three jealous advisers, Astrofar, Taxalot and Crushafo. The Four Heralds are played by Olivia Sheridan, Lucy Hampel, Ellie Hanson and Vivi Reeves. Lions include Rachel Hartley, Spencer Reeves, Elly Hersam, Will Dooley, Anna Sheridan, Diana McIntyre, Maeson Wagner and Molly Wunderlich. Other members of the Persian Royal Court include Niki Sulkowski, Andy Dooley, Avery Laird and Toby Woods. Ben Dooley is the percussionist.
