Car window smashed, gym bag stolen at New Canaan YMCA

The passenger-side window of a vehicle parked in the YMCA parking lot at 564 South Ave. was smashed and a gym bag was stolen from inside the car at about 8:30 p.m. on Feb. 6, according to the owner, a 50-year-old male New Canaan resident. According to police, the man parked in the lot at about 8 p.m. and returned to the vehicle 30 minutes later to find that his black gym bag, which contained clothing and a paddle ball racquet, had been stolen. The gym bag and clothing are valued at $250 and the paddle ball racquet is valued at $250.
