CARES kicks off preschool program for parents

New Canaan Cares is offering a series of six preschool parent education programs.

Executive Director Meg Domino will lead the first presentation, "Loving Limits, Consistency & Boundaries," at Toddler Time Nursery School in the Congregational Church on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. The discussion is intended to help parents who struggle to find successful strategies and seek to restore peace and sanity in their homes.

Parents will learn about developmentally appropriate behavior shifts, limits and challenges. Domino will also identify triggers for difficult behaviors and provide tools to tame the ensuing tantrums.

The Newcomers Club of New Canaan provided a grant for the program.
