Benjamin Busch, a decorated Marine Corps officer who saw two tours of duty in Iraq and an accomplished writer, photographer and actor, will speak about his book and his life when he visits the New Canaan Library on Monday, Aug. 20, at 7 p.m.

Known for his work on the HBO series "The Wire," Busch recently published his memoir, "Dust to Dust."

Busch said he was attracted to a solitary life even as a young child. He was especially drawn to the wilderness, the natural power and force of rain, oceans, rivers, the ruins of nature and man.

His writing has been featured in Harper's and has been twice nominated for the Pushcart Prize. He has also been a guest commentator on NPR's "All Things Considered." He lives on a farm in Michigan with his wife and two daughters.

The event is co-sponsored by Elm Street Books and will take place in the library's Adrian Lamb Room.
