A burglary at a residence on Michigan Road was reported May 4 at 11:13 p.m.
Police say it's possible the burglary took place while the husband and wife were home. Police said the senior couple was in the basement watching television from 8:30 until around 11 p.m. When they went upstairs, they noticed drawers were opened and things were disturbed.
The wife noticed various gold and diamond earrings, along with her engagement ring and wedding band, were missing. The jewelry was valued at $8,000 total. Sterling silver flatware valued at $5,000 and $500 in cash were also missing. Police found a door at the rear of residence was forced open.
