Sean McNamara, 19, of 375 Silver St., Bridgeport, was charged July 17 with possession of less than 4 ounces of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
An officer stopped a vehicle, which had no front license plate, traveling northbound on New Norwalk Road near Brushy Ridge Road, said police. When speaking with McNamara, the officer smelled the odor of marijuana, according to police. McNamara claimed there was no marijuana in the vehicle when asked, but the officer found some when he conducted a search of the car, according to the report. In the glove compartment, the officer found a container with three baggies of marijuana, which was in excess of half an ounce but less than 4 ounces, according to police.
He was issued a misdemeanor summons and released on a promise to appear in court.
