Banking 101 provided to National Charity League members

Gail Donovan, Bankwell in New Canaan vice president and branch manager, recently spoke to teen members of the National Charity League about banking, credit, identity theft and security -- as well as how to plan for managing finances when preparing for college.
The nonprofit league is a mother-daughter membership organization that supports and serves people in need. There are more than 180 national chapters and two in New Canaan.
Donovan has been a branch manager at Bankwell in New Canaan for more than five years and a New Canaan resident for more than 20 years. She comes from a background in finance and economics and is a member of the New Canaan Chamber of Commerce
Bankwell has branches at 208 Elm St. and 156 Cherry St., and four additional branches throughout Fairfield County.
