First County Bank Foundation has contributed $,2500 to the New Canaan Community Foundation.

New Canaan branch manager Aitza Cabrera and business development officer David Van Buskirk recently presented the check to the foundation's executive director, Cynthia Gorey.

"First County Bank has been a generous supporter of the community foundation's philanthropic efforts for the past five years, donating $12,500 in that time period," Gorey said in a news release. "Our charitable goals align closely with theirs, to improve the quality of life for families and children in our community.

"This donation will help us support nonprofit organizations that directly impact the health and well-being of thousands of individuals living and working in lower Fairfield County. As a community bank, they are an essential partner in our work and we are grateful for their wonderful contributions. Their confidence in the foundation and our ability to make a difference in the lives of our residents is inspiring."

First County Bank has a branch at 95 Park St. in New Canaan.

Since 1977, the New Canaan Community Foundation has made $9 million in grants and scholarships.
