The Bank of New Canaan is celebrating its 10th anniversary throughout the month of June, and the bank has a lot to celebrate.
It has held the No. 2 ranking in town, with 20 percent of deposit market share for five years in a row, and its holding company, BNC Financial Group, reached $524 million in assets at the end of April.
"As we celebrate 10 years in New Canaan, we are grateful for all of the relationships that we have developed and the support that we receive from the community. I would also like to acknowledge our talented staff for their ongoing commitment to the success of our organization," Bank of New Canaan President Heidi DeWyngaert said. "They exemplify, on a daily basis, our philosophy of professionalism and providing the highest level of personal service."
The bank was named
the "One Community Bank in Connecticut" several months ago in the Commercial Record's annual Reader's Poll.
As part of the 10th anniversary celebration, the bank will donate $50 to a local nonprofit organization with every new free checking account opened during June. According to DeWyngaert, this is "just another way that we can give back to the community."
Other events scheduled around the anniversary include an Ice Cream for the Community Day on June 2, when the bank will be handing out free ice cream and popsicles at Mead and Waveny Parks and other locations around town.
