Live bands, beer tastings, outdoor games and food will be featured in the New Canaan Nature Center's inaugural Harvest Festival on Saturday, Sept. 29.

Held on the Nature Center's grounds, the event is open to people aged 21 and older, and will be have two sessions -- 3 to 6 p.m. and 7 to 10 p.m.

All attendees will receive a tasting mug at the door that they can use to sample a variety of craft beers served by representatives of New Canaan start-up Charter OakBrewing Company, Berkshire Brewing Company, Cisco Brewers, Half Full, GW Beer, Palm Breweries, Murphy's Stout and Estrella Damm, Harpoon Brewery and Thomas Hooker Brewery.

Chefs from several area restaurants will provide complimentary tastings ranging from charcuterie by the Roger Sherman Inn to specialties from the Tuscan and Carpe Diem to gourmet chips from Connecticut's Deep River Snacks.

Each session also will feature live music from The Fry Daddys, who will play during the first session, and Otis & The Hurricanes in the second session.

Attendees also will be able to participate in games, such as cornhole, ping pong and bocce. Commemorative T-shirts and beer mugs will be available for purchase. Tickets are $50 and can be purchased online at www.newcanaannature.org or at the center. A limited number of tickets will be available at the door for $65.

Proceeds will benefit the New Canaan Nature Center's educational programming as well as ongoing maintenance of the 40-acre property.
