Ticket machines at all Metro-North Railroad stations as of 7:30 a.m. Saturday are working properly, according to railroad officials.

For most of Friday and early Saturday, the machines were rejecting ticket purchases by credit or debit cards.

The malfunction afflicted the railroad's ticket-machine network during heavy passenger traffic on the New Haven Line into and out of New York City for the annual New Year's Eve revels in Times Square.

Passengers could use cash only to buy tickets at local stations or onboard the trains.
