Award-winning author Yolen to stop at New Canaan Library

Jane Yolen, award-winning author of more than 300 books for children, young adults and adults, will be the guest at New Canaan Library for two events on Sunday, Dec. 16, in the Adrian Lamb Room.

One event for children takes place at 1:30 p.m. and another for adults at 4 p.m. The programs are presented in partnership with Smith College Club of New Canaan, Darien, Norwalk and Wilton. Yolen is an alumna of Smith College. Elm Street Books will have copies of Yolen's books for purchase and signing.

At 1:30 p.m., Yolen will read one of her dinosaur series books and answer questions from the audience. She recently published "How Do Dinosaurs Say Merry Christmas?" and "How Do Dinosaurs Say Happy Chanukah?" The second program will be a poetry reading for adults. She will read passages from her recently published "Ekaterinoslav: One Family's Passage to America," a memoir in verse.
