Almost $400 was taken from a New Canaan resident's bank account in what police believe is another case of identity theft.

The 65-year-old Locust Avenue resident called police at 5:39 p.m. Dec. 2 after checking his bank transactions and noticing a purchase he had not made, police said.

The Oct. 28 transaction came from Brooklyn, N.Y., according to police. After going through his transactions at a different bank account, the man noticed six fraudulent purchases totaling $386. The first transaction was made Sept. 30, police said.

The complainant has not lost any of his checking or credit cards, so police believe this to be an identity theft case.
